Simon Webster powers to victory in the Welsh forests

After a close second place in the previous rally, Green Valley boss Simon Webster claimed his first victory of the season last weekend in an exciting round four of the FUCHS LUBRICANTS Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship in South Wales.

Topping the podium along with Jez Rogers the team ended a fantastic day of Rallying, pipping Steve Bennett and Osian Owen at the post in a well fought battle through the forests of Wales.

Simon was flying in the sunshine on the first stage of the Rally and took an eight second lead, but as the cloud descended and Bennett and Owen responded to close the gap to just 4 seconds on the second stage.

As the Rally went on the two battled fiercely for victory and after Bennett turned a 5 second deficit into a one second lead on the Margam stage it was up to Webster in his classic, Wavian sponsored Mark II Escort with two fresh tyres to power home on the final stage to win by two seconds to clinch first place and receive the well deserved plaudits.
