The Explo-Safe fuel can has all the safety features of our classic Wavian Jerry Cans with the addition of an innovative aluminium mesh inside the can. This incredibly fine honeycomb structure takes up just 2% of the cans volume, and serves to dissipate heat within the can so that the fuel inside the can will not ignite explosively in the unlikely event of it being exposed to sparks or naked flames. Suitable for E10 Fuel.
FAQ's
I have received my jerry can and it has a residue inside which smells of fuel?
Our cans are rinsed out with a cleaning fluid after they are manufactured which does have a fuel-like scent to it. We can confirm that this is normal and does no harm to the can or the fuel that is then put inside.
Are the Wavian/Site steel fuel cans suitable for water?
No. The coloured steel cans are lined with a rezinol lining inside and are suitable for fuel only, not water.
What is the difference between a Wavian Steel can & a Site Can?
Our Wavian branded cans are top quality fuel cans. They are made to the highest standards to last a lifetime. The Site Cans are a more affordable solution to storing fuel & we wanted to give our customers the option of having a lower-price choice of steel can. The Wavian quality may not be matched, but they are a decent can for fuel storage.

Our World famous steel Wavian fuel cans are built to the highest quality, with a number of unique features which set them apart from cheaper alternatives including a more robust construction, a wider breather pipe and a corrosion resistant lining.
The Explo-Safe fuel can has all the safety features of our classic Wavian Jerry Cans with the addition of an innovative aluminium mesh inside. This incredibly fine honeycomb structure takes up just 2% of the total volume, and serves to dissipate heat within the can so that the fuel inside will not ignite explosively in the unlikely event of it being exposed to sparks or naked flames.
Suitable for the storage of petrol and diesel. Not suitable for water storage.

Painted epoxy polyester powder coated rust proof exterior.
Internally coated with the highest quality “fuel resistant” REZOL Enamel to prevent rusting and flaking.
Dual Pan construction and seem welded for extra strength.
The unique wide channel breather enables ‘glug’ and splash free pouring.
Our 10 Litre Can discharges all of its fuel in less than 25 seconds.
Fuel resistant rubber seal in cap.
Leak proof Bayonet closure with stainless steel locking pin in cap.
Cap designed to hold open when discharging the fuel.
Strengthened hinge on cap to prevent accidental bending when closing.
Standard Bayonet caps and New Screw top magnetic caps.

Physical Tests carried out include:
ADR Regulated Internal pressure (Hydraulic) test.
The can is fully filled and the pressure inside the can increased to 2.5 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no air leaks.
ADR Regulated Leak proofness test (Leak proof) test.
The Can is fully submerged in a tank of water and the pressure inside increased to 0.3 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no leaks.
Drop tested from a height of 1.8 meters.
Handles are also drop tested from 0.8 metres.

Good quality product, actually lighter than I was expecting! 2018 build but not a problem really. Seals intact and hissed on first opening equalizing pressure,good sign. Would have preferred two 10LTs but only one in stock. Under current circumstances (lockdown) can’t complain. I haven’t even filled mine yet!

The capacity of this can is slightly less due to the explosafe material inside. These are more expensive, but the quality is excellent.
