Our cans are rinsed out with a cleaning fluid after they are manufactured which does have a fuel-like scent to it. We can confirm that this is normal and does no harm to the can or the fuel that is then put inside.

No. The coloured steel cans are lined with a rezinol lining inside and are suitable for fuel only, not water.

Our Wavian branded cans are top quality fuel cans. They are made to the highest standards to last a lifetime.     •Manufactured from 0.8mm - Cold Rolled Steel (DC04EN 10130)
    •Painted epoxy polyester powder coated rust proof exterior.
    •Internally coated with the highest quality “fuel resistant” REZOL Enamel to prevent rusting and flaking.
    •Dual Pan construction and seem welded for extra strength.
    •The unique wide channel breather enables ‘glug’ and splash free pouring.
    •Our 20 Litre Can discharges all of its fuel in less than 25 seconds.
    •Fuel resistant rubber seal in cap.
    •Leak proof Bayonet closure with stainless steel locking pin in cap.
    •Cap designed to hold open when discharging the fuel.
    •Strengthened hinge on cap to prevent accidental bending when closing.
    •Standard Bayonet caps and New Screw top magnetic caps.
     
    Tested and certified to comply with the following Worldwide standards.

    Physical Tests carried out include.
    ADR Regulated Internal pressure (Hydraulic) test.
    The can is fully filled and the pressure inside the can increased to 2.5 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no air leaks.
    ADR Regulated Leak proofness test (Leak proof) test.
    The Can is fully submerged in a tank of water and the pressure inside increased to 0.3 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no leaks.
    Drop tested from a height of 1.8 meters.
    Handles are also drop tested from 0.8 metres.

    Please be aware that the leak-proof Bayonet mechanism on our Steel Fuel Cans has been engineered to fastened tightly around the neck of the can and therefore may initially require heavy handling to release the cap. After the first few uses, the mechanism will ease as the air vacuum created inside the can escapes. If you are concerned about operating the Bayonet can then we recommend opting for our quality Screw Top Wavian Can. If you have already purchased a Bayonet can and require further support please get in touch.

      The jerry can was delivered in a decent cardboard box, so it is shiny and clean without a scratch on it. This is a lovely sturdy fuel can. I like the locking lever too. Mine is now full of diesel and my little tractor approves of having a ready supply of fuel at last, rather than the silly little plastic 5 litre thing I had been using. The tractor said I was treating it like a garden lawnmower and was much relieved when this proper 20 litre steel jerry can arrived.

      Well after trawling the web for a NEW jerry can and not being able to find what I wanted that could be delivered in time I thought I’d give this a try.
      So far excelent, just have a few months to wait to be sure as only time spent full of diesel will tell.
      Only issue is that its stamped with the words ‘PETROL’ which is annoying as it storing diesel, still the standard red Diesel diamond is required so easy to rectify.

      With the introduction of E10 fuel, I was unsure if my four stroke mower wpuld run on E10 so I sought out a non-Amazon supplier of Jerrycans. I discovered this jerrycan on this site and everything went as smooth as clockwork, with the goods coming within a few days of ordering.
