Round 2 – British Historic Rally Championship

There was some bad luck for Green Valley Owner Simon Webster at the latest round of the FUCHS LUBRICANTS MSA British Historic Rally Championship last weekend.

Confidence was high heading into the stunning Kielder forest region and Simon together with his new sponsor www.speedyreg.co.uk and team mate Jez Rogers were poised to move up the leaderboard when disaster struck and the car was forced out of the rally.

Pushing hard, Simon’s classic MK2 Escort was third overall and moving up the field when a major steering problem caused the car to roll dramatically, prematurely ending their rally and any hopes of picking up valuable championship points.

The Winners
Paul Barrett/Dai Roberts finished the weekend as winners and Matt Robinson/Dave Robson came in second on their return to BHRC and Ieuan Rowlands/Emyr Hall came in a stunning third on their Kielder debut.

Simon will be back in action and hoping for better luck in the third round of the FUCHS LUBRICANTS MSA British Historic Rally Championship on Fri/Sat 8th/9th June in Carlisle.

Have a look at this in car footage before disaster struck!
