I have received my jerry can and it has a residue inside which smells of fuel?
Our cans are rinsed out with a cleaning fluid after they are manufactured which does have a fuel-like scent to it. We can confirm that this is normal and does no harm to the can or the fuel that is then put inside.
Are the Wavian/Site steel fuel cans suitable for water?
No. The coloured steel cans are lined with a rezinol lining inside and are suitable for fuel only, not water.
What is the difference between a Wavian Steel can & a Site Can?
Our Wavian branded cans are top quality fuel cans. They are made to the highest standards to last a lifetime. The Site Cans are a more affordable solution to storing fuel & we wanted to give our customers the option of having a lower-price choice of steel can. The Wavian quality may not be matched, but they are a decent can for fuel storage.

This 20 Litre diesel container is made of durable HDPE and comes equipped with an easy-to-pour flexible spout which stores inside the can when not in use. About Scepter
More than 70 years ago Evald Torokvei started a home business with little more than a passion for innovation and a drive to be the best. Before long his small company innovated by blow molding the first military-style fuel cans in Canada. Through smart choices and smarter design, the business doubled in size, began to win innovation awards, and earned a full 95% of the global marine fuel tank market.
For the military, Scepter developed better packaging for the safe handling and storage of large caliber ammunition, and converted the military fuel can from metal to plastic as the new standard. This fuel container is known by armies the world over as a “Scepter Can.” When Scepter turned its attention to the retail market, we quickly gained trust throughout the world for producing rugged, ergonomic, and easy-to-use fuel containers. Steady growth and expansion ensued and our Canadian operations were strengthened with the purchase of a key facility in the heartland of America.
This growth and prosperity attracted the attention of Myers Industries of Akron, OH, who was so impressed that they acquired Scepter in 2014. Founded by brothers in the 1930s, Myers has a similarly rich history of steady growth from local distributor to industry-leading manufacturer. Great can but a little disappointed the spout forms part of the screw on cap, and you have no choice but to have it sit in the fuel when the cap is on, meaning you drip fuel on removing the cap/spout. Please, please start to offer an alternative cap for this can and make it more obvious on your product description that the spout needs to be stored this way. I’d have given it 5 stars if you had done these things.

It is an excellent fuel can. It is stable, the spout actually dispenses fuel with no leakage and thanks to the breather valve, it empties quickly.
