I have received my jerry can and it has a residue inside which smells of fuel?
Our cans are rinsed out with a cleaning fluid after they are manufactured which does have a fuel-like scent to it. We can confirm that this is normal and does no harm to the can or the fuel that is then put inside.
Are the Wavian/Site steel fuel cans suitable for water?
No. The coloured steel cans are lined with a rezinol lining inside and are suitable for fuel only, not water.
What is the difference between a Wavian Steel can & a Site Can?
Our Wavian branded cans are top quality fuel cans. They are made to the highest standards to last a lifetime. The Site Cans are a more affordable solution to storing fuel & we wanted to give our customers the option of having a lower-price choice of steel can. The Wavian quality may not be matched, but they are a decent can for fuel storage.

• Manufactured from 0.8mm – Cold Rolled Steel (DC04EN 10130)
• Painted epoxy polyester powder coated rust proof exterior.
• Internally coated with the highest quality “fuel resistant” REZOL Enamel to prevent rusting and flaking.
• Dual Pan construction and seem welded for extra strength.
• The unique wide channel breather enables ‘glug’ and splash free pouring.
• Our 10 Litre Can discharges all of its fuel in less than 25 seconds.
• Fuel resistant rubber seal in cap.
• Leak proof Bayonet closure with stainless steel locking pin in cap.
• Cap designed to hold open when discharging the fuel.
• Strengthened hinge on cap to prevent accidental bending when closing.

Tested and certified to comply with the following Worldwide standards.
• Swedish Standard – SP
• German Standard – TUV/GS
• UN Standard – Dangerous goods approval
• Military and Motorsport Compliant
• DIN 7274 and BAM – GGR001
Physical Tests carried out include.
ADR Regulated Internal pressure (Hydraulic) test.
The can is fully filled and the pressure inside the can increased to 2.5 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no air leaks.
ADR Regulated Leak proofness test (Leak proof) test.
The Can is fully submerged in a tank of water and the pressure inside increased to 0.3 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no leaks.
Drop tested from a height of 1.8 meters.
Handles are also drop tested from 0.8 metres.

Super quality, – the only one I’d trust. Bought to use with my 5L can, with separately available spout, pictured fitted to the 10L can. Most places only allow filling of 15L over two cans. Very useful at times, and very secure. Plastic cans are landfill, in my opinion.

Generally I’m happy, on the day I bought the 10L I changed my mind and 2 hours later phoned up to see if I could pay the difference and have the 20L instead, unfortunately for me it had already been posted! I was disappointed can’t say I wasn’t but that’s not Jerrycans uk’s fault, it’s mine. They performed extremely well, I received it the very next morning, 1 little scuff on the paint, but not an issue, it’s excellent quality and will outlast me no problem, also it’s E10 proof! The only thing is, (and I’ve as yet only used it once 9L of fuel) was combined with the bought at the same time extra long flexible hose leaked a couple of drops from somewhere around the connections, I’ve put the same on my review of the hose. Now maybe it might seat better after a couple of fills I don’t know, it’s nothing really, not comparable to those horrible plastic offerings you get at the garage they leak bad! I do already as I put in my order review have a 5L bayonet connection jerrycan so I am very familiar with using one.

Almost perfect — unfortunately the metal safety pin is slightly bent, so it doesn’t go all the way through both holes in the locking mechanism. It goes into the middle section without much trouble, so it’s still functional.

No leak when used with spout from same manufacturer. Locking pin secures lid. Lid clamps rather tightly in place, requiring some strength to pull open. Better too tight than too loose though. Useful size for transfers from low taps.
